Evolution
2022, digital, watercolor, 8.2” x 11”
This is a personal project, reflecting on humanity's impact on nature and contemplating women's role in nurturing life.
As the world's population becomes increasingly saturated, extreme population growth is dividing up the limited resources. Goats survive by eating eggs and give birth to baby goats at specific times.
Infinite fertility leads to the eggs being quickly consumed, and gradually the goats fill the room until one goat finds an exit and enters a new room. This enclosed space also represents a woman's uterus, with the lines on the eggs symbolizing the stretch marks on a mother's belly after giving birth. Everything that happens in the room is inseparably linked to birth.
